SAN DIEGO -- Two miles of beach in San Diego were open Friday despite a series of recent shark sightings.One shark was caught in a photo Wednesday.Its tail fin can clearly be seen in the photo, which was taken by a viewer of CBS affiliate KFMB in San Diego. Experts identified it as a 10- to 12-foot great white.There have been three confirmed shark sightings along that coastline in a week. In one of the others, a foot-long dorsal fin was seen Wednesday, KFMB says. Hours later, a group of fishermen discovered a dead baby seal at a pier with apparent bite marks. And it sure looks like a shark bite. Beaches were reopened Thursday when patrols found no sign of sharks.Sharks have been known to go to the area this time of year to feed on seals and sea lions. Three inmates are recovering after overdosing on drugs that were smuggled into the Pinellas County jail on Thursday.The inmates were immediately rushed to the hospital following the overdose. They are expected to be okay.Deputies say that inmate Robert Gilner, 29, admitted to bringing the drugs into the detention facility. Gilner had only been in jail since Tuesday. He was arrested on a DUI charge.Gilner is now facing several additional charges.Gilner, along <a href=https://www.adidascampus.com.de>adidas campus herren</a> with Jason Sandy, 31, and Jason Koketek, 30, fe <a href=https://www.skecher.com.de>skechers sicherheitsschuhe</a> ll ill. Deputies realized they were high and overdosing.The three inmates were rushed to a local hospital where deputies discovered Gilner had what is being described as a white powdery sub <a href=https://www.adidas-originalss.fr>adidas originals</a> stance .Gilner admitted he snuck the drugs in when he was booked earlier this week.He will be charged with Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility. Deputies say that additional drug charges are likely.Investigators are speaking with Gilnerin hopes of discovering how he got the drugs into the secured facility. The sheriff s office is also reviewing if mistakes were made in the booking process. |
